RIVER FOREST, Ill.- The Illinois Institute of Technology women's soccer team took on a tough Dominican University squad on the road on Tuesday afternoon, falling 5-1.

How it Happened

• The Stars scored twice within a minute's span in the first half. Dominican found the net in both the 19th and 20th minutes to go up 2-0, a score that held for the rest of the first half.
• Dominican's defense limited BenU's first half chances, holding the Scarlet Hawks to three shots.
• In half number two, Tech started fast with an unassisted Kristen Barrett goal in the 52nd minute.
• However, the Stars would counter with another tally in the 56th minute. Dominican would score again in the 83rd and 88th minutes to ice the contest.

Scarlet Hawk Standouts

• Barrett scored the team's only goal on three shots (two on goal).
• Newly-named DIII Independents Player of the Week Ade Maron led the Scarlet Hawks with five shots.
• Roxanne Myers made nine saves.

Dominican Notes

• Lauren Zuro led the Stars with five shots and two goals.

• Tech was outshot 19-12 but evened the Stars 9-9 in the second half.
