Season Ends with Win on Day 2 of USCAA Championships

ASHEVILLE, N.C.- The Illinois Institute of Technology ended the season on Friday morning at the USCAA Championships. The sixth-seeded Scarlet Hawks downed #10 Carlow 2-1 in a consolation match.

How it Happened

  • It did not take long for the Scarlet Hawks to find the back of the net. Three minutes into the match, Ade Maron tallied her 14th goal of the season unassisted to give Tech a 1-0 lead.
  • In the 37th minute, Tech peppered Carlow keeper Bailey Klems with shots. After a few chances, including a great look from Anida Phetchanpheng, were turned away, Kristen Barrett scored to put the Hawks up 2-0.
  • Carlow would tighten up their game in the second half, scoring early on a penalty kick to push the score to 2-1.
  • Carlow generated numerous second half chances, but stout defense by Tech's backline and stellar pay from Roxanne Myers in net gave the Scarlet Hawks the season-ending victory.
