Women's Soccer Announces 2016 Recruiting Class

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Illinois Institute of Technology women's soccer team has announced its 2016 recruiting class. Head Coach Roshane Ellison is excited about each of the five student-athletes joining the program.

"I am very elated about our recruiting class of 2016," said Ellison. "I am confident each player will come in and provide an immediate impact on our program, while also complimenting our culture of teamwork, discipline, and commitment. With us graduating three All-American players from last year's USCAA National Quarterfinal team, the goal was to usher in a group that will provide an immediate impact and allow us to be very competitive. We believe, through this class, that we have done so."

Elizabeth Bremer

Position: Forward

Year: Freshman

Hometown: Indianapolis, Ind.

High School: Perry Meridian

Club Team: St. Francis SC 99G Elite

Intended Major: Mechanical Engineering

Coach Ellison's comments: "Liz is a versatile, hard working, and talented player that will provide an attacking threat and toughness for us from a central position. She will help to bolster our attack and is expected to be a strong contributor to our success this year."   

Madison Harris

Position: Midfield

Year: Freshman

Hometown: Franklin, Wis.

High School: Divine Savior

Club Team: Fusion Soccer Club

Intended Major: Undecided Engineering

Coach Ellison's comments: "Madison is a hard-working and cerebral midfielder that possesses a lot of vision, reads the game well, is an excellent distributor of the ball, and a player who will dictate the tempo of our play."

Katie Hoefgen

Position: Forward

Year: Sophomore

Hometown: Wauwatosa, Wis.

Previous School: Western State Colorado University

High School: Wauwautosa East

Club Team: FC Wisconsin Eclipse ECNL

Intended Major: Biomedical Engineering

Coach Ellison's comments: "Katie comes to us as a transfer from Western State Colorado University with a lot of experience, athleticism, skill, and toughness. Katie is expected to be an attacking threat for us and have a stand-out year in her first season as a Scarlet Hawk."

 

Karen Juricic

Position: Midfield

Year: Freshman

Hometown: Shorewood, Ill.

High School: Joliet West

Intended Major: Architecture

Coach Ellison's comments: "Karen is a hard working, discipline, athletic, and speedy player that is expected to bring some pace and depth to our outside mid positions. She is expected to make contributions this season." 

Daisy Tellez

Position: Midfield

Year: Freshman

Hometown: Chicago, Ill.

High School: Lake View

Intended Major: Information Technology and Management

Coach Ellison's comments: Daisy is an athletic, technically gifted, and energetic player that reads the game well. She is expected to be a key player in midfield and a strong contributor to our success this season."

 

Women's Soccer is coming off its first-ever USCAA Tournament appearance and a 9-7-4 overall record. The team opens the 2016 season at home on Thursday, September 1 against Knox College at 7:00 p.m. Live audio, video, and statistics for all home matches will be available. The live audio will be powered by Illinois Media School.
