Women's Swimming and Diving Earns Two Weekly Honors

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Illinois Institute of Technology women's swimming and diving team has earned two Players of the Week from the Liberal Arts Conference based off the team's performance against Carroll University on Saturday. Delaney Shepherd (Women's Swimmer of the Week) and Elly Shin (Women's Diver of the Week) both were named by the LAC.

Just a freshman, Shepherd swam well in both events against Carroll. The Manhattan, Illinois native swam the 1650 Yard Freestyle, winning her first mile of the season at 19:40.31. In the very next event, she recorded a time of 2:12.33. Both times were narrowly off of her season-bests.

Tech swimming and diving will be in action next on Saturday as the team travels nearby Wheaton College for the Wheaton Quad. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
