Women's Swimming in Diving in Fifth Place after Day Two

ELSAH, Ill. – The Illinois Institute of Technology women's swimming and diving team competed in day two of the Liberal Arts Championships on Thursday night. The team currently sits in fifth place with a score of 81.

Thursday's Results

  • The 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team finished ninth to start the day, as Nicole Frantz, Grace Wischmeyer, Haley Slator, and Briana Tyler recorded a time of 1:46.44 in the finals.
  • Frantz then competed in the 500 Yard Freestyle, leading all Tech swimmers with a 16th place finish after a strong preliminary time of 5:27.39.
  • Tyler (sixth, 2:16.70) and Kristin Wills (seventh, 2:16.79) put together strong performances in the 200 Yard Individual Medley.
  • In a large 50 Yard Freestyle field, Jasmine Duke placed tenth at 25.35s.
  • The 400 Yard Medley Relay team of Wills, Brigitte Temple, Tyler, and Duke placed fourth with a time of 4:09.20.

Friday's Events

  • The 200 Yard Medley Relay, 400 Yard Individual Medley, 100 Yard Butterfly, 200 Yard Freestyle, 100 Yard Breaststroke, 100 Yard Backstroke, and 800 Yard Freestyle Relay will all take place tomorrow. Preliminaries begin at 10:00 a.m.
