Women’s Swimming and Diving in a Fourth-Place Tie after Day 3

ELSAH, Ill.-  Day three of the Liberal Arts Championships took place on Friday at Principia College in Elsah, Illinois. The Illinois Institute of Technology women's swimming and diving team currently sits in a tie for fourth place, sharing the spot with the University of Minnesota-Morris (224 points). Tech is also narrowly behind third-place Coe College (254.5 points).

Friday's Highlights

  • Kristin Wills, Brigitte Temple, Briana Tyler, and Jasmine Duke started the day off strong for Tech, placing fourth in the 200 Yard Medley relay with a time of 1:52.76. The group improved almost two second from the preliminary round to the final round.
  • Temple and Wills stood out in the next event as well, with Temple placing second (4:43.35) and Wills placing fourth (4:52.46) in the 400 Yard Individual Medley.
  • In the 100 Yard Butterfly, Tyler placed seventh with a time of 1:01.02.
  • In the 100 Yard Breaststroke, Temple continued her strong day with a second place finish (1:07.85). Grace Wischmeyer placed seventh (1:11.43) in the same event.
  • Tech's 800 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Duke, Wills, Temple, and Nicole Frantz performed well, placing sixth at 8:23.27.

Saturday

  • The Championships wrap up on Saturday, as Tech will have participants in the 200 Yard Backstroke, 100 Yard Freestyle, 200 Yard Breaststroke, 200 Yard Butterfly, 1650 Yard Freestyle, 1 Meter Diving, and 400 Yard Freestyle Relay.
