Burrill Wraps Up Scarlet Hawk Swim Career With NCAA Appearance

Indianapolis, IN - Senior Megan Burrill wrapped up her storied swimming career with her final swims at the 2022 NCAA Division III National Championships on March 16th, 17th and 18th, 2022. Burrill, who competed in the 200-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, and the 200-yard butterfly, was the sole representative for the Scarlet Hawks at the national level.

During the first day of the competition, Burrill competed in the 200-yard individual medley. A finishing time of 2:11.24 placed Burrill 55th overall in the event.

The second day of competition saw Burrill completing the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 56.60, placing her 33rd overall.

On the final day, Burrill finished her final career swim in the 200-yard butterfly. Her final time of 2:06.10 placed her 26th overall in the event.

After years of dedication and perseverance through tough morning swim practices & heavy lifting, Burrill finished at the peak of the competition.

“Going to Nationals and representing Illinois Tech was an amazing experience and a great way to end my swimming career,” said Burrill. “I’m so thankful for all of my coaches and teammates who have supported me along the way.”
