CHICAGO, Ill. – The Illinois Tech women's tennis team dominated the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) opener on Wednesday afternoon to earn win number one on the season. In a match which saw eight different student-athletes contribute to victories, the Scarlet Hawks (1-2, 1-0 NACC) upended Concordia-Chicago (0-1, 0-1 NACC) 9-0.

How it Happened

  • The Scarlet Hawks were up 3-0 after doubles concluded. Both the No. 1 (Morgan Colbert/Hana Iverson) and No. 2 (Sophia Nelson/Kylie Hance) doubles teams were 8-1 winners. In No. 3, Mouna Chahin and Sarah Oshana won 8-2.
  • In singles, four out of the six matchups went 6-0, 6-0 in Tech's favor: Colbert (No. 1), Iverson (No. 2), Allyson Trang (No. 5), and Claire Marlowe (No. 6). Marlowe's win was the first of her collegiate career.
  • In addition, Hance was a 6-1, 6-0 winner in No. 3 singles, while Nelson defeated her counterpart 6-1, 6-1.
