Women's Track and Field Entered Second Half of Indoor Season with Strong Performance at Chicagoland Championships

The Scarlet Hawks traveled to Naperville, IL for the Chicagoland Indoor Championships. The competition, hosted by North Central College, gathered over 25 schools from Chicagoland. "With this meet we entered in the second half of the indoor season. We had some good performances and it seems that most people had season best days and are closing on their PR's, and even surpassing them, which is exciting to see."

On the women's side the highlight was Venika Jarvis's 60m run. Her time improved her previous school record and narrowly missed advancing in the semifinals for the event.   Taylor Schaub recorded a new season best performance in the High Jump, with a 1.52m leap.

Greta Zola and Rebecca Bell competed very well in the mile and bettered their time by more than 10 seconds. Bell turned around later in the day and shaved 4 more seconds from her season best time in the 800m.

Sara Glade teamed up with Anne Crotteau and raced to a personal best time in the 3000m, crossing the finish line in 11:14.

Teva Venet had the highest finish among the Scarlet Hawks, with a 7th place in the Long Jump. His mark is a new season best and just shy from his own school record that was set last year.

Scarlet Hawks will return to action on Saturday, February 21st, competing at the Margaret Bradley Invitational hosted by University of Chicago.
