Women's Track and Field Displays Best Season Performance at Margaret Bradley Invite

The Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks competed at the University of Chicago
"Margaret Bradley Invite" and had their best showing of the season.
"We had a good day at Chicago, with lots of season best, personal best
performances, and 3 school records." said Head Coach Calin Hantau.

Venika Jarvis had a busy afternoon, setting a school record in the 60m
dash, good for 5th place. She turned in another 5th place finish in
the 200m and anchored the 4 x 400m relay to a 2nd place finish.
In the field events, Taylor Schaub had a season high 2nd place finish
in the High Jump, and Jaqui Rowell recorded a 7th place in the Long
Jump. Brianna Koning added points for the women's team after her 8th
place finish and personal best effort in the Shot Put.
April Wanagas crossed the finish line in 3rd place in the 400m. Anne
Crotteau and Sara Glade teamed up once again and raced together in the
mile, posting personal bests in the event, along with 7th and 8th
place finish.

Teva Venet had one of his best days on Saturday, setting 2 school
records in Long & Triple Jump. He won the Long Jump with 6.43m,
besting the nearest competitor by more than a foot.  The sophomore
from California returned to competition in Triple Jump, where he set
another program best mark, and earned him a 3rd place. "Teva is
starting to show his true potential. He didn't jump the first 2 meets
of the season, but really working hard on getting back to where he can
be" said Assistant Coach Kristina Jones.

The Scarlet Hawks will be idle for a week and return to competition on
Friday, March 6th at Carthage College. The "Gill Athletics Final
Qualifier" will resume the indoor season for the Track & Field Teams.
