CHICAGO, Ill.- Illinois Institute of Technology women's volleyball hosted Homecoming against Lakeland College on Saturday for two matches, showing off the Keating Sports Center's brand-new gym floor for the first time. Lakeland as victorious in both matches.
How it Happened- Match One
- Lakeland came out strong in set one, building a 10-3 early lead en route to a 25-11 victory
- Tech kept things close in set two, trailing 15-13 until the Muskies scored nine straight points, capitlaizing on five attack errors by Tech. Lakeland took the set 25-14.
- The Scarlet Hawks put together an impressive rally of seven straight points in the third set to take a 9-6 lead, but Lakeland slowly but surely took control. With Tech down 20-17 late, Lakeland scored five of the matche's final seven points to win 25-19.
How it Happened- Match Two

It was a back-and-forth first set until the Muskies took control in the middle of the game, going on two seperate runs of three straight points to take a 18-11 lead. Tech would fight back courtsey of kills from Elizabeth Woltman, Irena Grauzinis, and Alyssa Miner, but the teams continued to trade points as Lakeland won 25-17.

A late charge from Lakeland sealed the second set, as the Muskies scored the final five points and won 25-13.

Lakeland's serving was the story of the third set. The Muskies tallied seven aces en route to a 25-9 win.
Scarlet Hawk Standouts
- Woltman had 11 kills between the two matches and led the Scarlet Hawks in hitting percentge in both (.312, .167)
- Grauzinis talled a team-high 12 kills between the two matches
- Adriane Walther totaled 37 assists and 22 digs
For the Foes
- Caleigh Galvan led the uskies with 34 digs
