ROCKFORD, Ill.- The Illinois Institute of Technology women's volleyball team played at Rockford University on Tuesday night, falling 3-1.
How it Happened
- Rockford took control early, winning the first set 25-12 behind a .238 hitting percentage.
- Illinois Tech kept set two much closer, but the Regents took control late to win 25-23.
- The Scarlet Hawks impressed in the third set, outhitting Rockford .250% to -.036% in a 25-16 win.
- Rockford held off Tech and avoided a fifth set with a 25-20 win in set four.
Scarlet Hawk Standouts
- Recently-named DIII Independents Player of the Week Adriane Walther tallied 24 assists and 10 digs.
- Irena Grauzinis led Tech with 11 kills, while Jelena Vujicic tallied nine kills and a .179 hitting percentage.
- Alyssa Miner added six kills and four blocks (two solo, two assists).
- Chelsea Badiola led the team with 17 digs.
For the Foes
- Alex Storey and Katie Fowler tallied 10 kills each.
Stats to Know
- This was the second meeting between the two teams this season. Tech won the first match 3-0 in Beloit, Wisconsin on September 4.
- Rockford outhit the Hawks .162% to .128%.
- The Scarlet Hawks had 62 digs compared to the Regents' 58.
- Rockford recorded 12 service aces comapred to Tech's seven.
