Walther, Grauzinis Named USCAA All-Americans

CANTON, N.Y.- The Illinois Institute of Technology women's volleyball team has earned some All-American honors from the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. Adriane Walther (Second Team) and Irena Grauzinis (Honorable Mention) have been recognized by the USCAA.

Walther, a senior and Tech setter, earned Second Team honors due to her versatile play on the court. The Chicago native tallied a team-high 814 assists, amounting to 7.33/set. He also was third on the team in digs with 357 (3.22/set), which ranks near the top for USCAA setters. At the net, Walther ranked third on the team in blocks with 59 (17 solo, 42 assisted), which also ranks among the top USCAA setters. Walther also earned USCAA Setter of the Week (Aug. 31 - Sept.7) and the Association of Division III Player of the Week (Sept. 21-28) honors this season.

Grauzinis, a junior outside hitter, was a key member of Tech's attack in 2015. The St. Charles, Illinois native led the team in both kills (318) and kills/set (2.86). She also was second in digs with 394 (3.55/set). She was named the Association of Division III Independents Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 8-14 when she tallied 19 kills and 17 digs in a match against Moody Bible.
