Mequon, Wisc. – In the second match of a double header at Concordia University Wisconsin, the Illinois Tech women's volleyball team dug a two-set hole against Wisconsin La Crosse, battled back to take set three before eventually falling 3-1 in a non-conference matchup Friday evening. The Scarlet Hawks fell to 16-10 overall. The Eagles improved to 19-8.
The Hawks started off slow, dropping the first two sets 25-10 and 25-16, before responding with a better performance in set three. The Hawks jumped out to a six-point lead before the Eagles chipped away, eventually building a five-point lead at 23-18. The Hawks fired back, however, rattling off seven straight points to take set three 25-23. The Hawks and Eagles were even 4-4 in set four before the Eagles rallied for five straight points to take over the set and eventually seal the match with a 25-12 win.
