Women’s Cross Country Competes at USCAA Championships

LAKELAND, Fla.- The Illinois Institute of Technology women's cross country team partook in the USCAA Championships on Friday morning at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Florida. Tech had some standout finishers in the meet despite dealing with very warm weather conditions, which impacted the competition.

Results

  • Caitlyn Brunner finished in 26th place out of 120 completed runners with a 6k time of 26:26. 
  • Brooke Bell was not far behind, placing 29th at 26:30.
  • Rebecca Bell was on pace for a Top 30 finish before being pulled from the meet due to the harsh weather conditions.

  • "The women had the toughest conditions of the day to deal with. Temperatures were above 90 with no cloud cover or water provided on the course. However, the team fought the wweather and were in position to have three Top 30 finishers."
