Hawks Lacrosse Dominates Carroll College

Chicago, IL- Five Hawks scored multiple goals as Illinois Tech Women's Lacrosse enjoyed a comfortable 18-5 win against Carroll College on Thursday night. Captain Florencia Carrerou and Cassandra Reineke led the way for Tech with 4 goals each while freshman tandem of Sarah Maciorowski and Isabel Fitzpatrick Meyers recorded their first career hat-tricks. Chelsea Badiola added two goals while Nene Sanankou recorded her first career goal to round out the scoring for Tech.

The game started at a frantic pace with Tech scoring 39 seconds into the game; an unassisted goal by Cassandra Reineke, the fastest goal in program history. Tech added another goal a minute later and jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Carroll then responded with 2 quick goals to tie the game 2-2 at the 24:39 point of the first half. Tech kept their composure and outscored Carroll 11-4 in the first half.

Tech continued their offensive explosion in the second half along with a stingy defense outscoring Carroll 7-1 for the remainder of the game. Tech's dominance of both halves led to their 18-5 victory; their largest margin of victory and the most goals scored in a single game in program history. Briana Villagrana was impressive in the cage for Tech with 5 saves.

The Hawks will be in action again on Wednesday the 8th of April when they travel to Elmhurst to take on Elmhurst College at 7pm.
