Women’s Swimming and Diving Places Fifth at LAC Meet

ELSAH, Ill. – The Illinois Institute of Technology women's swimming and diving team wrapped up the 2015-16 season at the final day of the Liberal Arts Championships on Saturday. Tech placed fifth in the 12 team field.

Meet Highlights

  • Three swimmers were strong to open the Finals in the 1650 Yard Freestyle: Nicole Frantz (10th, 19:10.87), Delaney Shepherd (11th, 19:20.17), and Madeline Lane (12th, 19:35.39). 
  • Haley Slator earned a 13th place finish in the 200 Yard Backstroke (2:20.94).
  • Jasmine Duke was strong in the 100 Yard Freestyle, placing sixth with a time of 54.91s.
  • Continuing her strong weekend, Brigitte Temple placed third in the 200 Yard Breaststroke (2:27.96). Grace Wischmeyer placed seventh in the same event (2:36.11).
  • In the 200 Yard Butterfly, Briana Tyler placed fourth (2:19.04) while Kristin Wills placed eighth (2:22.67).
  • Paige Mass was Tech's top 1 Meter Diver, placing 10th with a score of 291.65.
  • Frantz, Wills, Tyler, and Duke formed the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team, which placed ninth with a time of 3:45.09.
