2022-2023 will be Kirsten Madsen’s second season as an assistant coach for the Scarlet Hawks.

Madsen has experience coaching basketball camps at Wheaton College and working AAU tournaments for USJN. In addition, Madsen spends her summers traveling to the Dominican Republic to run basketball clinics in underprivileged communities throughout Santiago.

Coaching is in her blood, as Madsen played four years of college basketball at Wheaton College under her dad and head coach, Kent Madsen. As a shooting guard, Madsen helped the Thunder achieve three conference championships and four NCAA DIII Tournament appearances over the course of her career. During her last season, Madsen served as team captain and earned a spot on the CCIW All-Conference Second Team. In 2019-2020, she also made the program’s record list as the eighth player with 55 three- point field goals made in a single season for Wheaton.

Madsen graduated from Wheaton College in 2020 with a degree in Secondary Education and Mathematics. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Administration and Coaching at the University of Concordia Irvine.
