CHICAGO, Ill. – The Illinois Tech men's baseball team saw its first action since returning from Arizona on Friday, playing a doubleheader at Ed Glancy Field against Wisconsin Lutheran. In game one, the Hawks used a six-run seventh inning to capture their second win of the season 12-4. In game two, the Warriors' bats caught fire and were able to put the Hawks away to win 10-5.

How it Happened - Game One

• The Hawks struck first in the bottom of the second inning with Zachary Dickey home run to right field, his second home run of the season.
• The Hawks lead was short-lived as the Warriors brought three across the plate in the top of third on two hits, and one more run in the top of the fifth.
• Tech, though, turned on the heat, as the bats awoke in the bottom of the fifth. DJ Rybski singled up the middle to score Orlando Cardenas-Juan, Jonathon Wilcox doubled to left to bring Rybski home, and Wilcox reached home on the next pitch on a throwing error to cap off the three-run inning.
• Christian Lopez led off the bottom of the sixth with a home run to center field to give the Hawks a 5-3 lead. Kyle Bumpass later scored on a throwing error to give Tech a three-run lead (6-3)
• Tech put the game out of reach in the seventh with six runs on four hits and one throwing error to help the team cruise to a victory.

Scarlet Hawk Standouts

• Rybski went 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI. 
• Cardenas-Juan had a great game, going 3-for-3 with one RBI and two runs.
• Dickey (2-of-5) and Lopez (2-of-4) both hit solo home runs and had two runs scored.
• Kyle Bumpass pitched 7 1/3 innings, giving up four runs on six hits, one walk, and striking out six to earn his first win of the season.
• Dylan Corsi threw 1 2/3 perfect innings.

Stats to Know

• Tech (13) had seven more hits than Wisconsin Lutheran (6).
• The Hawks had seven errors compared to four for WLC.
• The Warriors pitchers totaled five strikeouts, one less than the Hawks (6).

How it Happened – Game Two

• Wisconsin Lutheran jumped out to the early lead, hitting solo-homers in the first and second innings to take a 2-0 advantage.
• In the bottom of the third, Tech responded. The Scarlet Hawks plated three runs on four hits, as Tyler Tucker (single), Johnathon Wilcox (groundout), and Ted Howell (single) all recorded RBIs.
• Things were quiet until the sixth inning. After the Warriors plated two runs to take a 4-3 lead, the Scarlet Hawks tied the score on a Cardenas-Juan RBI single in the bottom of the inning.
• Lutheran proceeded to score six more runs over the next two innings. Tech managed to plate a run in the bottom of the seventh, but the Warriors held on for the 10-5 win.

Scarlet Hawk Standouts – Game Two

• Tucker tallied three hits (3-for-4 with a double) to go along with a run and an RBI.
• Rybski had another multi-hit contest (2-for-5 with two runs).
• Ryan Cantlin earned a no-decision, going six innings and allowing four runs on five hits while striking out eight.

Stats to Know – Game Two

• Scarlet Hawk pitching struck out a season-high 12 batters.
• Tech made three errors compared to zero for the Warriors.
