Baseball Achieves ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

Greensboro, N.C. - The Illinois Tech baseball team was named on Thursday, July 26th as one of 450 collegiate programs nationwide to earn the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award.

The award honors programs coached by ABCA members that posted a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale for the entire 2022-23 academic year.

"This award truly represents what Illinois Tech is all about" said Head Coach Ed Zeifert. "Our pursuit of excellence in the classroom, on the field and in the professional setting all stem from our commitment to the classroom. I am extremely proud of this group for all they have achieved" said Zeifert.

About the American Baseball Coaches Association:

The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), founded in 1945, is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 15,000 members represent all 50 states and 41 countries. Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, Association membership has broadened to include nine divisions: NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Pacific Association Division, High School, Youth and Travel Baseball.
