CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind.- The Illinois Institute of Technology men's basketball team opened the season on Tuesday night, falling at Wabash College 75-57.
How it Happened
- Starting four freshman, Tech kept things close early in the first half and took a 15-13 lead on a Jake Bruns jumper with 13:30 left.
- Shortly after, Wabash retook the lead and held it through the half, leading 35-29 after 20 minutes.
- Tech scored the first six points of the second half on a Parker Joncus three and a layup and free throw by Anthony Mosley Jr. to tie things at 35.
- Wabash took control, going on a 28-8 run through the seven-minute mark in the half, taking a 63-43 lead.
- Tech and Wabash exchanged baskets late, taking the game to the 75-57 final.
Scarlet Hawk Standouts
- Mosley led the Scarlet Hawks in scoring in his first collegiate contest, tallying 23 points with four steals.
- Jake Digiorgio, also playing for the first time, recorded a double-double (16 points, 10 rebounds) with three steals.
- Returning starter Samuel Rarick notched six points and four rebounds.
