LINCOLN, Ill. - In the team's last game of the season, the Illinois Institute of Technology men's basketball team dropped a close matchup at Lincoln Christian 82-75 on Wednesday night.
How it Happened
- Tech started the game strong in large part to Jake Bruns, who tallied nine points in the first four and a half minutes.
- With Tech up 15-7 at the 14:47 mark, Lincoln Christian began to close the gap. Tech held the lead for the entire first half, but LC was able to cut the deficit down to just one, 42-42, at the intermission.
- The teams traded advantages for most of the second half until Lincoln Christian opened up a five point advantage at 60-55 with 7:40 left to go in the contest.
- LC was strong from the free throw line down the stretch to close out the contest.
Scarlet Hawk Standouts
- Anthony Mosley Jr. led the Scarlet Hawks in scoring with 23 points to go along with six rebounds, eight assists, and three steals. The freshman reached the 20-point mark 19 times this season and finished the season averaging 19.7 points per game.
- Bruns hit all four of his three-point attempts and scored a season-high 20 points. It was his third straight game in double-digit scoring.
- Jake Digiorgio finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds, recording his 13th double-double of the season. He also added four steals.
Stats to Know
- Tech outshot Lincoln 51.7% to 42.6%.
- LC shot 30 free throws compared to just 14 for Tech.
- Both teams tallied 14 assists while Lincoln outrebounded the Scarlet Hawks 34-33.
