CHICAGO—The Illinois Institute of Technology men's basketball team hosted Concordia University Chicago in a Saturday-afternoon showdown at the Keating Sports Center. A 13-8 Cougars lead at the 12:46 mark of the first half sparked a 23-2 Scarlet Hawks run that gave them a 31-15 lead with 6:20 left in the frame, enough arsenal to secure a 92-56 victory.

IIT improves to 6-9, 4-6 NACC while Concordia Chicago falls to 6-8, 5-5 NACC.

"I was really happy with the way we played today," said IIT head men's basketball coach Todd Kelly. "The key was our defense only giving up 56 points, which is huge because they came in averaging 85-86 points per game. We did a very good job at defending their dribble drive as they have a lot of quickness and good one-on-one ability. Our balance was great today as we had four guys in double-figures and another with nine points."

Miles Curry was dynamite with a game-high 25 points on 9-12 shooting and 3-3 from the three-point line. Max Hisatake notched his 12th double double of the season with 16 points and 15 rebounds.

Ahmad Muhammad reached double figures for the sixth-straight game, and notched his third-straight 14-point game along with four assists. Milos Dugalic rounded out the IIT players in double figures with 12 points. Otis Reale tallied nine points, and engineered a Scarlet Hawks unit that notched a season-high 21 assists with five of his own, a season-high. Reale's season-high five steals commanded an IIT unit that tallied 13, also a season-best.

Illinois Tech shot 33-61 (.541) from the field and 9-18 (.500) from beyond the arch.

Fourteen players saw action for CUC, and nine of them contributed points. Landen Gladney paced the Cougars with 12 points.

The Scarlet Hawks will return to action on Tuesday, January 21 at MSOE. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
