CHICAGO—Max Hisatake recorded a career-high 20 rebounds for the second-straight game for the Illinois Institute of Technology men's basketball team, which helped them seal an 81-61 victory over Dominican University (Ill.) at the Keating Sports Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Scarlet Hawks improve to 8-13, 6-10 NACC while the Stars fall to 8-13, 4-12 NACC.

"I was really happy with our performance defensively as giving up only 61 points is where we want to be," said IIT head men's basketball coach Todd Kelly. "We had a really balanced performance as we had five guys score over nine points. Miles Curry has been more aggressive for us in recent weeks, and Max Hisatake is rebounding like he's the best in the nation with four-straight games with over 17 rebounds. Hopefully we can find a way to build momentum to get a road win on Wednesday at Edgewood as we've struggled playing away from home this season."

Hisatake, who now carries 1,077 boards and 1,215 points over his four-year career, recorded his 16th double double of the season with 16 points while Miles Curry erupted for a career-high 27 points on 10-16 shooting. Milos Dugalic registered 14 points while Ahmad Muhammad, who dished four assists, and Otis Reale each tallied nine.

Dominican leading scorer Jackson Smith was held to just 11 points. Smith went off for 41 points in the Stars' 70-61 win over Marian on January 7. Dylan Anderson came off the bench with a team-leading 14 points, which included four three-pointers while Dennis Handy rounded out the Stars double figure scorers with 13.

Outside of a 3-2 deficit at the 16:34 mark of the first half, the Scarlet Hawks led from start-to-finish in their 20-point victory. IIT outshot the Stars .478 (33-69) to .386 (22-57), and converted half their shots from beyond the arch with an 8-16 (.500) figure.

The Scarlet Hawks will return to action on Wednesday, February 12 at Edgewood College. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
