MEQUON, WIS.—The 2019-20 season's final week is in full swing for the Illinois Institute of Technology men's basketball team, who squared-off against third-place Concordia University (Wis.) in a Tuesday-night bout in Mequon, Wisconsin. The Scarlet Hawks led from start-to-finish in a 70-64 decision over the Falcons.

IIT improves to 11-13, 9-10 NACC, and stays alive for the 2020 NACC Tournament. The top-six teams will qualify for the NACC Tournament, and Illinois Tech is entrenched in a three-way tie for fifth place with MSOE and Rockford. The Scarlet Hawks, who've now won five of their last six games, will travel to Rockford in the 2019-20 regular season finale on Saturday, February 22 at 2:00 p.m. Concordia (Wis.) falls to 15-9, 14-5 NACC.

The Scarlet Hawks jumped to a 16-point cushion on three occasions in the first half. The latest occurrence was with 4:19 left when Ahmad Muhammad's three-pointer made the score 32-16 before Concordia (Wis.) narrowed their deficit to 35-28 at halftime.

The Falcons made things interesting with 1:00 remaining, when they shrunk their deficit to two points off Garrett Hoffman's three-pointer that made the score 64-62. A Scarlet Hawk technical foul with 0:30 left gave the Falcons an opportunity to grab their first lead, but couldn't narrow the gap as Miles Curry iced the game with a trio of made free throws within the final 0:17 of the second, which helped secure a 70-64 win for IIT.

Curry led all scorers with 23 points, while Ahmad Muhammad notched four three-pointers en route to 19 points. Milos Dugalic rounded out the Illinois Tech double figure scorers with 12 points along with a game-high five steals. Max Hisatake notched 14 rebounds, seven points and four assists for Illinois Tech, whose defense held the Falcons to just 3-16 (.188) from the three-point line. Joey Zietlow paced CUW with 16 points, while Jared Juss posted a game-high seven assists.
