The Scarlet Hawks comeback began with a Reale layup at 4:04 to cut their deficit to 65-57. A steal by Milos Dugalic on the subsequent possession led to an Ahmad Muhammad three-pointer at 3:13 to bring the Hawks within five points. Caden Gigstad followed that sequence up with a steal and layup basket of his own to bring the Hawks within three at 65-62 with 2:37 remaining. The Eagles Trevor Montiel responded with a three-pointer at 2:10 to put the Eagles back up by six at 68-62. Muhammad connected on another three-pointer with 1:56 remaining to draw the Hawks within three points. A missed three-pointer by the Eagles Jeff Kratz resulted in Kratz fouling Milos Dugalic for the rebound, creating a one and the bonus opportunity for the Hawks forward with 1:20 remaining. Dugalic connected on his first attempt, but missed the bonus attempt. The teams traded empty possesions over the next few possessions before the Hawks were forced to foul the Eagles with 11 seconds remaining.
