CHICAGO, Ill.- The Illnois Institute of Technology men's soccer team dropped a Friday evening match at Stuart Field, falling 6-1 to the USCAA's top-ranked team: West Virginia Tech.
How it Happened
- After a tight first 15 minutes, the Golden Bears broke the game open at the 15:26 mark with a goal. Two minutes later, WVT would score once again to go up 2-0.
- The Golden Bears also scored in the 26th and 38th minutes to build a 4-0 lead. Four different players scored for WVT.
- Illinois Tech would get on the board just before halftime, as Diego Gutierrez Coronel scored in the 42nd minute.
- Francisco Neto scored twice in the second half to put the Golden Bears up 6-1.
Scarlet Hawk Standouts
- Gutierrez Coronel scored his third goal of the season.
- Sergio Calvo de Leon and Juan Arjona Belmonte each had an assists.
- Anastasios Manolis recorded six saves.

- Neto scored twice on both of his shots.

- West Virginia Tech outshot the Scarlet Hawks 16-6.
- WVT committed 18 fouls compared to 13 for Illinois Tech.
