ON THIS DAY (October 3, 2018): Men's Soccer Picks Up First Ever NACC Victory

CHICAGO—The Illinois Institute of Technology men's soccer team picked up their first-ever Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) victory with a 2-0 decision over Concordia Chicago at Stuart Field on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. The Scarlet Hawks dodged a five-game losing skid and improved to 5-6 overall, 1-4 NACC. 

Both Scarlet Hawks goals occurred in the second half. Peter Fouchet set up Conner Shaw's goal in the 64th minute before Oluwaseun Ogunsanya assisted on Santiago Bartolome's tally in the 89th minute. 

The Scarlet Hawks outshot Concordia Chicago 11-4, and committed one-of-four yellow cards assessed in the match. Bartolome and Anthony Olmos each tallied a pair of shots for Illinois Tech. 

Alex Kern picked up one save in net over the first 45:00 for Illinois Tech before Anastasios Manolis relieved him at halftime, where he made no saves over 45:00 en route to a winning decision. Cougars goalie Jose Retana made four saves in the complete-game loss.
