Rockford, Ill. - Kenny Barnabee scored three minutes into the match and assisted on a goal 12 minutes later as the Illinois Tech men's soccer team downed Rockford University 2-1 in their final match of the season Wednesday night. The Scarlet Hawks finished the season 7-11-1 overall and 3-8-1 in NAAC play. The Regents closed out their season 5-11-1 overall and 3-8-1 in the NACC.
How It Happened
- At the 2:58 mark, Barnabee came down the left side on a breakaway and beat Regents goalkeeper Jonathan Rosales for his third of the season to stake the Hawks to a 1-0 lead.
- The Hawks increased their lead to 2-0 in the 15th minute when Michael Kaczowka took a feed from Barnabee and knocked in his 10th goal of the season.
- The Regents finally broke through in the 86th minute when Kacper Stepaniak booted in a rebound from a save by Adam Falcigno to cut their deficit to 2-1.
