Men's Soccer Moves to 3-0 After Defeating Alma College 4-0

Chicago, Ill. – The Illinois Tech men's soccer team won their third consecutive game to start the season, defeating Alma College 4-0 Monday afternoon in a non-conference matchup at Stuart Field. The Scarlet Hawks improved their record to 3-0-0. The Scots fell to 1-1-0.

The Scarlet Hawks have now shut out each of their three opponents to start the season, with the offense scoring 10 goals.

How It Happened

  • The Scarlet Hawks got on the board early, with Anthony Paiotti scoring at the 1:31 mark on an assist from Michael Kaczowka.
  • First-year forward Matthew Watson provided the Hawks with some breathing room heading into halftime, scoring his first goal at the 42:49 mark, with Devin Zakeri providing the helper.
  • Six and a half minutes into the second half, the Hawks increased their lead to 3-0 when Paiotti scored his second goal of the match on a nice give-and-go with Kaczowka.
  • Kaczowka completed the scoring for the Hawks at the 60:21 mark when he tallied on a feed from Joshua Plimpton.
