Men's Soccer Welcomes Seven Incoming First-Year Student-Athletes

Chicago, Ill - Illinois Tech men's soccer will be welcoming seven new first-year student-athletes when play begins this fall.

The incoming class is comprised of four Chicago-area products, along with players from Texas, Florida and Ontario, Canada.

"We are excited to welcome seven incoming players to our 2022 recruiting class" said Head Coach Marc Colwell. "Each of the young men fit seamlessly into the team culture on and off the field. We expect them to compete right away for playing time and help the team" Colwell continued.

The seven new players are:

  • Moises Mata - Miramar, Florida
  • Zachary Barisa - Frisco, Texas
  • Christian Garcia - Burbank, Illinois
  • Matthew Watson - Plainfield, Illinois
  • Carter Liske - Stoney Creek, Ontario
  • Alex Kuban - Lombard, Illinois
  • Logan Garcia - Hoffman Estates, Illinois

The Scarlet Hawks will begin pre-season play on August 21st when they host a scrimmage versus the College of Lake County, followed by an intrasquad scrimmage on August 27th. The Scarlet Hawks will begin the regular season on Thursday, September 1st when they host Albion at 6pm at Stuart Field.
