Illinois Tech Swimming Establishes School Records at Day Three of Liberal Arts Championship

Elsah, Ill. - Day three of the 2022 Liberal Arts Championships saw school records broken and NCAA qualifying times achieved.

On the men's side, the evening was kicked off with a third place finish from fifth-year Seth Wissenbach in the 400-yard individual medley (4:16.41). The evening rolled on with conference championship wins for junior Mark Klinchin in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.49) and junior Sam Kastan in the 100-yard breaststroke (57.66). Fifth-year Matthew Randle also tied the 100-yard backstroke school record, finishing in second place with a time of 51.54.

Notable races throughout the evening also included a third place finish in the 200-yard freestyle for sophomore Cameron Kramer (1:45.97), and a sixth place finish in the 100-yard butterfly for first-year Marko Nikoletic (53.89).

On the women's side, the evening started off with third and sixth place finishes for first-year Kristen Hampton (4:48.94) and fifth-year Claudia Flores (5:20.89). The evening continued on with a school record, NCAA B qualifying time, and conference championship win for fifth-year Megan Burrill in the 100-yard butterfly (55.95).

Junior Anna Slominski was first to the wall in the 100-yard breaststroke, adding another conference championship win on the weekend (1:04.75). 

The evening wrapped up with a first place finish in the 200-yard medley relay consisting of Burrill, Slominski, Hampton, and first-year Emma Dutkiewicz.

Both teams wrap up the final day of competition on Saturday, February 12th.
