Torres Picks Up Both Scarlet Hawks Victories in 7-2 Loss at Carthage

KENOSHA, WIS.—The Illinois Institute of Technology men's tennis team made the one-hour trek north to Kenosha, Wisconsin to face Carthage College on Friday. Alann Torres carried the Scarlet Hawks with wins in the singles and doubles flight, but his team couldn't feed off that momentum in a 7-2 loss to the Red Men.

IIT falls to 2-5 on the season while Carthage improves to 5-2.

Torres continued to prove he's unstoppable in No. 4 singles as he registered a 6-3, 7-6 decision over Andre Antreassian. He teamed with Roman Shishlov for an 8-2 victory over Matt Krzewinski/Zizi Amadike in No. 2 doubles. 

Yousef Abdo was competitive in No. 3 singles after he took Tripp Schulte to an extra set with a 4-6, 6-1 score before he retired due to injury.

The Scarlet Hawks will return to competition on Friday, February 28 when they host Roosevelt University at the XS-Tennis Center. Start time is set for 10:00 a.m.
