CHICAGO—Erik Scanlan has led the Illinois Institute of Technology men's and women's tennis programs through the infancy stages of their revival in his three seasons as head coach. He carries a 31-29 men's record, and a 33-21 women's record since assuming the Scarlet Hawks programs prior to the 2017-18 campaign.
Scanlan and the Scarlet Hawks wasted no time in getting acclimated to a new conference as the men claimed the 2018-19 NACC Regular Season, and Tournament Championships. It resulted in Illinois Tech's first ever NCAA Division III Tournament appearance in any team sport. It helped Scanlan secure 2018-19 NACC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year.
