CHICAGO—Illinois Institute of Technology men's tennis sophomore Alann Torres was named April 28 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week. Torres is the second Scarlet Hawk to land the weekly honor this season after senior Adam Laitinen earned the distinction on April 15.
Torres was a driving force in the Scarlet Hawks' 8-1 victory over MSOE at the XS-Tennis Center on April 25. The San Antonio, Texas native teamed with Nabil Fawaz in No. 1 doubles, where they demolished MSOE's Alec Dam/Parker Kuhlman 8-4. Torres was flawless in No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 thrashing of Dam.
Torres and the Scarlet Hawks will compete in the 2021 NACC Men's Tennis Tournament Semifinal as the No. 1 seed on Thursday, May 6 at the XS-Tennis Center against an opponent to be determined.
