Men's Tennis Defeated By Lake Forest College

Lake Bluff, Ill. - The Illinois Tech men's tennis team put on a better performance Saturday then their previous two matches. Unfortunately the final score still resulted in a loss, as the Scarlet Hawks dropped a non-conference match to Lake Forest College 8-1 Saturday night in Lake Bluff, Ill. The Scarlet Hawks fell to 0-3 on the season. The Foresters improved to 2-2.

Singles Play (Lake Forest College 5 - Illinois Tech 1)

The Scarlet Hawks secured their first singles win of the season when Davis Housman defeated Lake Forest's Daniel Tulchinskiy 6-4, 6-1 in the number two singles match. The Scarlet Hawks dropped the remainder of their singles matches, but had their best showing of the season from a games won standpoint, with Alann Torres winning four games, Jordan Lauer, Danial Zindani and Rodrigo Casado each winning five games in their matches, and Ulyses Bueno Canosa winning two games in his season debut.

Doubles Play (Lake Forest College 3 - Illinois Tech 0)

Housman and Lauer took over the number one doubles pairing on this day, and they offered the most competitive match of the three doubles competition, but ultimately fell 8-5. Torres and Bueno Canosa paired for the first time in competition, falling 8-3 in the number two doubles match. Zindani and Casado lost their number three match 8-0.

The Scarlet Hawks will be traveling to Cedar Rapids, Iowa next Saturday for a pair of non-conference matches: 10:30 AM against Coe College, followed by an afternoon match with Cornell College at 2:00 PM.
