Chicago, Ill. - After a tough week of play on their spring break Florida trip, the Illinois Tech men's tennis team returned to conference play this weekend, downing Lakeland Unversity 9-0 on Sunday morning at the XS Tennis Center. Including the road win at Marian Unversity on Saturday, the Scarlet Hawks improved to 3-0 in the NACC, and 4-10 overall. The Muskies dropped to 0-2 overall and in NACC play.

The Scarlet Hawks dropped all four matches on their Florida trip against some tough opponents, but it helped prepare them as they embark on the thick of the conference schedule, including picking up a NACC victory yesterday.

"We did a good job with executing and finishing the point today" said Head Coach Kris Powell. "So hopefully we can carry this momentum into our next match" said Powell.

The Scarlet Hawks received 6-0, 6-0 singles wins from Alann Torres, Nabil Fawaz, Davis Housman, Rodrigo Casado and Ulyses Bueno Canosa. Danial Zindani won his #4 singles match 6-2, 6-1.

In double play, Torres and Fawaz won their #1 doubles match 8-2, while Jordan Lauer and Housman and Casado and Bueno Canosa won their #2 and #3 doubles matches respectively, 8-0.
