Men’s Tennis Remain Undefeated in NACC Play, Move to 4-0

De Pere, Wis. - At the Green Bay Tennis Center in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match-up, the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks men's tennis team took on the St. Norbert College Green Knights on Saturday. 

The Hawks (5-10, 4-0) took down the Green Knights (6-6, 2-1) 6-3. Throughout the match, the Hawks took 2-out-of-3 in doubles, and 4-of-6 in singles. The Hawks are now on a 3-match winning streak. 

How it Happened

No.1 doubles went in favor of the Green Knights as Brett Daniels and Adam Stacho took down Alann Torres and Nabil Fawaz 8-4. No. 2 and No.3 doubles were 6-3 victories for the Hawks as Jordan Lauer/ Huy Ngo defeated Joe Pellechia/David Vandenberg and Rodrigo Casado/Danial Zindani won their match between Anthony Michels/Brian Coulter.

In singles action, Torres won at No.1 6-4, 3-6, 75-64. Fawaz followed with a 7-5, 6-3 victory in No.2. Lauers' No.3 match went three sets as he picked up a 6-0, 4-6, 6-0 victory. Danial Zindani also went three sets in No.4, winning 3-6, 6-3, 6-0. No. 5 went toward the Green Knights as Rodrigo Casado fell 6-4, 6-2. In the final match, the Hawks Ngo fell to Josh Brown 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.

The Hawks look to continue their winning streak as they return to Chicago and welcome MSOE to the XS Tennis Center at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday for another NACC contest.
