Several Standouts for Men’s Track and Field at Benedictine

LISLE, Ill. – Over the last two days, the Illinois Tech men's track and field team ran in a tough Benedictine Relays field. The Scarlet Hawks placed in a tie for 25th with six points.

Meet Highlights

  • Once again, Cole Dammeier was awesome, scoring for Tech in the 3000m. He placed third in a 41-person field with a time of 9:00.75. Anthony Tuman was not far behind, placing ninth at 9:08.50 in the same race. Also, Julian Go finished 19th and clocked in at 9:24.97.
  • Adding to a strong freshman season was Evan Balizado. He placed 12th in the 1500m with a time of 4:15.55.
  • Barry Brookins placed 15th in the hammer throw (37.52m).
  • Jacob Gagner's best race was the 200m, where he finished 26th at 23.68s.
  • In the 400m, Edwin Vallecillo Rivera placed 36th with a time of 53.84s.
  • Brendan Batliner recorded a strong 800m time of 2:03.48, good for 28th place.
