ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Illinois Institute of Technology men's volleyball team took a trip south to St. Louis on Saturday evening to oppose the Griffins of Fontbonne University. The Scarlet Hawks were defeated in straight sets.

How it Happened
- In the first set, the Scarlet Hawks started off slow, as some attack errors allowed the Griffins to buld an 8-3 advantage. Tech would struggle to close the gap, as the Griffins went on to win 25-18.
- Set two was tighty contested early, as Tech stayed close and led 12-11. However, a huge run by Fontbonne put the set away. The Griffins scored eight straight and went on to win 25-15.
- In set three, Fontbonne took a 9-3 advantage to start, but the Scarlet Hawks would not go away quietly. Tech used a 5-0 run to vault the team to a 15-12 advantage. A 6-0 run for the Griffins gave the Missouri school the lead back for good, as Fontbonne held onto win 25-20.
Scarlet Hawk Standouts
- Alex Babusci led the Scarlet Hawks with nine kills and a .250 hitting percentage.
- Ryan Barnes tallied eight kills.
- Andrew Woltman recorded 22 assists and four digs.
- Kevin Schroeder led the team with seven digs.
