Men's Volleyball Drops a Pair at MSJ

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Illinois Institute of Technology men's volleyball team competed in a tri-match at Mount St. Joseph on Saturday. Tech fell to Greenville College and Mount St. Joseph in straight sets.

  • Greenville 3, Tech 0 (25-20, 25-13, 25-14)
  • MSJ 3, Tech 0 (25-18, 25-10, 25-23)

How it Happened

  • It was back and fourth early against Greenville, with Tech leading set one 13-10 before Greenville pulled away to win the first set. Sets two and three were controlled by Greenville throughout, as Tech never led in either set.
  • Against MSJ, set one was much like the first set against Greenville. The Scarlet Hawks hung close early on until MSJ found a gear late to pull away. After a rough second set, the Scarlet Hawks led 21-16 in the final set before a furious comeback by MSJ gave the team a 3-0 win.

Scarlet Hawk Standouts

  • Alex Babusci tallied double-digit kills in both matches, totaling 21 on the day.
  • Sahil Rana totaled 32 assists on the afternoon.
  • Allan Huang added double-digit digs on both matches, finishing the day with 21.
