Andriy Bench Named 2020 All-NACC Men's Volleyball Honorable Mention

NACC RELEASE

WAUKESHA, WIS.—Illinois Institute of Technology men's volleyball junior outside hitter Andriy Bench landed 2020 All-NACC Men's Volleyball Honorable Mention on Wednesday afternoon.

Player of the Year - Jack McGuire (Dominican)

Co-Defensive Player of the Year - Mat Molloy (Dominican) / Danny Martens (MSOE)

Freshman of the Year - Luke Vozenilek (Concordia Chicago)

Coach of the Year - Dan Ames (Aurora)

Bench, a native of Chicago, appeared in all 13 matches for the Scarlet Hawks in their shortened season. He paced Illinois Tech with 118 kills and 2.88 kills per set. Bench also accumulated 10 service aces, 46 digs and 26 blocks in 2020. The Scarlet Hawks' season-ending 3-1 victory over St. Norbert on March 7 saw Bench tally a career-best 21 kills, which helped secure him NACC Men's Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Week on March 8. He registered a career-high seven service aces in a 3-2 loss to Trinity Christian on February 15.

Bench and the Scarlet Hawks finished the 2020 season with a 2-11, 1-1 NACC record.
