Beloit, Wis. - The Illinois Tech women's basketball team couldn't find their shooting mark Tuesday night in Beloit, as the Scarlet Hawks were beaten by the host Buccaneers 83-34 in the Hawks final tuneup before conference play begins next week. The Hawks dropped to 2-3 overall. Beloit improved their record to 3-3.
How It Happened:
First Quarter
- The Bucs opened with a 7-0 run before the Hawks got on the board on a layup by Erin Nelson to cut the Hawks deficit to 7-2 at the 7:27 mark.
- The Bucs would score 11 of the next 16 points the rest of the way to close out the quarter leading 18-7.
- Hannah Welte had eight points to pace Beloit.
Second Quarter
- The teams traded points for the first couple minutes with the Bucs leading 23-12.
- A T'Aira Boyance layup at the 7:42 mark started a 16-5 run for the Bucs to close out the half leading 39-17.
Third Quarter
- The teams continued to trade points at the start of a quarter, with the Bucs holding 43-21 edge four and a half minutes into the third.
- The Bucs outscored the Hawks 17-8 the rest of the quarter to head to the final quarter leading 60-29.
- Jessica Weaver had three points and three rebounds for the Hawks in the quarter.
- Elizabeth Kalk had seven points for the Bucs.
Fourth Quarter
- Weaver opened the quarter with a free throw and a layup to cut the Hawks deficit to 60-32 one minute in.
- The Bucs responded with a 20-0 run to boost their lead to 80-32, en route to their 83-34 victory.
- Weaver added five points and four rebounds for the Hawks in the fourth quarter.
- Johanna McNair paced the Bucs with six points in the quarter.
Scarlet Hawk Standouts
- Weaver finished with nine points, nine rebounds and two steals.
Buccaneers Watch
- Kalk paced the Bucs with 17 points.
- Welte had 14 points.
- Cora Linos added 12 points and nine rebounds.

- The Hawks shot a season low 16.7% from the field (10-60). The Bucs shot 50% from the field (34-68)
- The Bucs shot 36.4% from three point range (4-11); the Hawks shot 12.5% (1-8).

- Meredith Williams led the Hawks in playing time with 32 minutes. Boyance led Beloit with 26 minutes played.
