Women's Basketball Sunk By Lakeland

Plymouth, Wis. - The Illinois Tech women's basketball team didn't find a warm welcome in their weekend trip to Wisconsin, as the Scarlet Hawks dropped their second game of road trip, falling to Lakeland University 79-45. The Scarlet Hawks dropped to 4-11 overall(1-8 NACC). The Muskies improved to 8-7(4-4 NACC).

The depth of the Muskies overmatched the short-handed Hawks, as the Lakeland bench outscored the Illinois Tech bench 40-3. Points in the paint was another challenge for the Hawks, as the Muskies outpaced them 34-8 in that category.

The Muskies shooting also carried the day, as they averaged 43.5 percent from the field, and 40 percent from three-point range.

Muskies Watch

  • Kerstin Sauerbrei had 15 points and five rebounds.
  • Ellie Felsinger added nine points and 10 rebounds.
  • 14 different players scored for the Muskies.

Inside the Box Score

  • The Hawks shot 25% from three point range (3-12); the Muskies shot 40% (12-30).
  • The Hawks had 10 fouls versus 14 fouls for the Muskies in the contest.
  • The Hawks shot 86% from the free throw line on 12 of 14 shooting. The Muskies were 7-11 (64%).
  • Bucci and Moton led the Hawks in playing time with 36 minutes each. Sauerbrei played 27 minutes for Lakeland.
