Women's Basketball Drops NACC Contest At Wisconsin Lutheran

Wauwatosa, Wis. – In a week that started with their sixth win of the season, the most since the 2008-2009 season, the Illinois Tech women's basketball team was served a reminder there are still many more miles to go on their journey of progression, as the Scarlet Hawks were overpowered by Wisconsin Lutheran 94-38 Saturday evening. The Scarlet Hawks fell to 3-13 in the NACC and 6-17 overall. The second-place Warriors improved to 14-2 in conference play and 17-6 overall.

Wisconsin Lutheran led the entire way, using a 36-0 run in the second half to help build a 61-point lead at the high point. The Warriors strength in the game was in the paint, holding a 60-18 advantage.

Scarlet Hawk Standouts

  • Julia Bucci paced the Scarlet Hawks with 10 points and tied with 3 steals.
  • Chloe Churilla added 6 points, tied with 5 rebounds, and led with 3 blocks.
  • Camden Joko added 6 points and 2 assists.

Warriors Watch

  • Sam Leisemann led with 17 points while adding 8 rebounds.
  • Ella Ten Pas added 13 points and pulled down a team-high 9 rebounds.
  • Reserve Jayden Hill had 8 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 steals without a turnover.

Inside the Box Score

  • The Scarlet Hawks turned the ball over 24 times; The Warriors had 12 turnovers.
  • Illinois Tech shot 27% from the field; Wisconsin Lutheran shot 56%. 
  • Bucci was the minutes leader for the Scarlet Hawks with 34; Meggie Scott played 21 minutes for Wisconsin Lutheran.
