Women's Lacrosse Earns Individual, Team IWLCA Academic Honors

Northborough, Mass. – Four Illinois Tech women’s lacrosse players were among 964 student-athletes from 173 different institutions honored by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) for the 2023 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll. Illinois Tech also earned IWLCA Academic Honor Squad status for the 2022-23 academic year.

Senior Faith Busche, and juniors Alison Yurchak, Kelly Hitchcock and Caitlin Davitt were all named to the 2023 honor roll.

To be eligible for the academic honor roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.

To qualify for honor squad status, the women’s lacrosse team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year.

“As a coach of remarkable female athletes, I am filled with immense pride and admiration for my players and their remarkable accomplishments in the classroom” said Head Coach Kirk Lamitie. “These extraordinary young women have demonstrated a dedication to both their athletic pursuits and academic endeavors, proving that they are true champions both on and off the field. Their commitment to excellence and the balance they strike between sports and studies are an inspiration to us all” said Lamitie.
