Women's Soccer Dominant in 5-0 Win Over Benedictine

CHICAGO, Ill. - Jayla Anaya had two goals, Genna Gaitan had a goal and an assist as the host Scarlet Hawks shut out Benedictine University in a NACC matchup Wednesday night. The Hawks improved to 6-3-1 overall (2-2-0 NACC). The Eagles fell to 1-10-0 (1-4-0 NACC).

How It Happened

  • The Hawks opened the scoring in the 11th minute with an unassisted tally by Genna Gaitan.
  • Less than a minute later Jayla Anaya scored, assisted by Gaitan, to put the Hawks up 2-0.
  • Anaya scored again in the 27th minute, this time coming on a header set up from a corner kick by Lucy Jorjorian. Watch the video here.
  • Kate Domian and Julianna Moore scored late in the second half to complete the scoring for the Hawks.
