MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – The Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks women's soccer team has had a successful season to date, with a 9-3-1 overall record and 5-2 in NACC play. That success has also resulted in individual honors this season, the latest being Elena Esparcia Cañada awarded the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Offensive Player of the Week for week ending October 10.

The senior midfielder from Valencia, Spain finished off the week with two goals and three assists in helping the Hawks earn two conference victories last week. She scored two goals and an assist in a 4-0 victory at Aurora on Wednesday, then added two assists in the team's 4-0 win at St. Norbert on Saturday.

In nine games played this season, she has scored five goals and added four assists for a total of 14 points. She leads the team with two game-winning goals.
