DECORAH, Iowa – Illinois Tech women's swimming and diving is well underway at the Liberal Arts Championships, competing in five different preliminary and final rounds on Thursday at Luther College. After the events of the first two days, the Scarlet Hawks hold fourth place in the rankings with 145 total points.

Day Two Highlights
- The day began with the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, in which Illinois Tech placed fifth. Christina Hiotaky, Tessa Skubal, Briana Tyler, and Jamie Wurster combined for a time of 1:45.45.
- Katherine Lydon reached the finals in the 500 Yard Freestyle, placing fifth with a time of 5:15.50.
- The 200 Yard Individual Medley was one of the team's best events of the day, as three Tech swimmers reached the finals. Kristin Wills (fifth place, 2:15.23), Tyler (seventh place, 2:17.23), and Hiotaky (16th place, 2:27.46) all scored for the Scarlet Hawks.
- In the 50 Yard Freestyle, Wurster scored for Tech with a 12th place finish (25.96s).
- Tech's 400 Yard Medley Relay team also swam well. The group of Wills, Brigitte Temple, Tyler, and Lydon placed third at 4:04.11, more than a two second improvement from the preliminary swim and just one second behind the second-place relay.
Day Three Preview
- Friday's schedule will be similar in time, with the preliminary rounds beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by the finals at 6:00 p.m.
- The day's events include the 400 Yard Individual Medley, 100 Yard Butterfly, 200 Yard Freestyle, 100 Yard Breaststroke, 100 Yard Backstroke, and the 200 Yard Medley Relay.
- Luther College will provide live video and live results for each of the day's events.
