KALAMAZOO, MICH.—The Illinois Institute of Technology women's tennis team opened the spring portion of their 2019-20 campaign with a Sunday-morning bout at Kalamazoo College. The Scarlet Hawks dropped an 8-1 decision to the Hornets.

IIT falls to 7-6 on the season while Kalamazoo improves to 2-3.

Hana Iverson picked up Illinois Tech's lone victory in No. 2 singles, where she notched a 6-3, 2-6, 10-6 decision over Maddy Winarski. 

The Scarlet Hawks will return to action on Sunday, March 15 when they face St. Lawrence University in Orlando, Florida.
